If DT only made 68, then my guess would be that there aren't very many Broncos on this list. Who does that leave? Manning (naturally), Bailey, Clady, and Miller? Are we all agreed that those 4 are the only ones better than DT (at the respective position)? Which would mean that Decker didn't make this list.

Yeah! It's not like those entertainment events bring in millions of dollars in tax revenue that go to pay for all those non-necessities like police, hwy infrastructure, fireman, teachers, etc or anything.

We should just become as insular as possible. I mean, look how well Omaha does without these big, international events. Makes everyone clamor to be in Omaha.

I mean it's critical to use taxpayer money for entertainment rather than non-necessities like police, hwy infrastructure, firemen, teachers, etc... if more people thought like you where would we be with more money in our pockets, better infrastructure, emergency personnel... geez wheez luis!

New Mile High is not an improvement and we still are paying dearly for it. Nor did we get to host a Super Bowl out of it. Nothing but corporate criminals who fleece taxpayers at the gunpoint of threatening to move a team or withhold an event. And to think the NFL is organized as a non-profit organization (google it).

Really 1652 times??? Damn, I didn't know Detroit played in Canada....1652 times? That's amazing considering the Lions only ran 1160 total plays on offense last season. Like I said get a clue before you talk.

I don't think anyone here is overlooking Decker's ability to trip himself up in the open field or drop his share of balls... he's just not as talented as Thomas and would be even further down the list.

At least you compared him with Dwayne Bowe of the Kansas City Chiefs. That is gutsy. Andy Reid is now in KC . The Chief have done much to improve. They did the same as the Broncos did to improve at QB. Bowe will fare much better with Alex Smith. I think a better comparison of them overall as players will be after this year. I see the Chiefs pulling off some major upsets.

Josh McDaniels hit this one on the head, a great pick. Its too bad his first few years were marred with injuries, hopefully Thomas can stay healthy and continue to show why he was a #1.

He already is a top 5 receiver and caught 94 balls last year yet he drops too many? He had the same amount of drops as Calvin Johnson, Victor Cruz and Brandon Marshall. Guess those guys aren't top 5 WR's either? Get a clue.

No, he had the fumblitis last year, not dropped passes. One handed highlight reel catch vs. KC. Nuff said. Sky's the limit. Stay healthy. The drops were 2 yrs ago from Tebow who threw rockets. I am not sure it is humanly possible to actually drop a pass from P. Manning...

In looking at how often he was thrown to, when and where he actually caught his passes and those he dropped, he's still considered to be one of the best, and in the top ten active receivers in the league. Just ask some of the defenders that covered him to hear what they say about his abilities. The guy is a beast to play against. Plus, he's had a lot of injuries from day one which also played a role in some of those dropped balls. And don't forget, Decker dropped a few crucial balls too but people tend to overlook his fumbles for some reason.

"PFM's new contract doesn’t change the money or the cap number, in any way....the renegotiated contract contains a clause acknowledging that the
Broncos have purchased insurance to protect them against a serious
injury to Manning. The contract must mention the insurance in order to
position the Broncos for a cap credit, if they ultimately collect on the
policy... the Broncos will get $10 million if Manning suffers an injury
(other than to his neck) in 2013 that prevents him from playing in
2014. If it’s an injury to the neck, Manning’s $20 million guarantee in
2014 evaporates, making the insurance unnecessary. Basically, then,
Manning will get the full $20 million for any non-neck injury in 2013
that prevents him from playing in 2014. The Broncos, in turn, will get
half of it back via insurance."

What's strange is the "cap credit"..seems like a salary cap "loop hole"? Why wouldn't every team take out this insurance on ALL of their big guaranteed contracts to prevent dead money due to injuries? As one of the commentators at PFT said, seems there should be a cap "hit" this year for the insurance premium amount, if a cap credit could be realized later on.

Strange, is it not, that many of the best in the league are at the top of the drops list. Perhaps there's more to the story. For one, the more targets, the more drops. But maybe, the better you are as a receiver, the more times a QB targets you in situations in which you're completely covered. There are open field drops (bad) and drops in very tight coverage (understandable) and I have no idea how that's counted.

Point being, drops is not a particularly great statistic without more context.
